How to Keep Your Sanity As An Event Planner

As an event planner, there are several times where you work seven days a week, especially if there's an event on the horizon. You spend most of the week finalizing details and setting up. Then you have the day of the event to put the REAL last minute touches on it. And, of course, the day after the event is for clean up and tear down. What about finding time to keep up with your mental and physical health?

Here are a few tips to keep your sanity as a busy event planner:

Always Eat Breakfast. You don't know when you'll have time to eat a real meal next, so be sure to eat your protein first thing in the morning! It will keep you energized and feeling full the longest.

Drink LOTS of Water! For how often you are on-the-go, you are probably dehydrated by 10am. Always have a water bottle (or four) on you. Check out one of our favorites!

Pack Snacks. Fruits, veggies, and granola bars are quick easy snacks that you can munch on while still working. You can certainly try to bring a prepped meal to reheat, but trust me, you probably won't have time for that or may not be able to find a microwave. I have learned the hard way -- don't waste a good piece of salmon like I did!

Workout regularly. Whether that's lifting, running, or doing yoga, do it. Even if it's for a short time. Giving yourself the mental break from work will allow you to be reenergized, so you can return to work fully engaged and recharged.

Keep your home tidy. Trust me, get the little things done at your place throughout the week. You will be thanking yourself for it big time. Then once your free day comes around, you can lounge and do whatever you'd like with a day full of no worries!
